What is Microsuction Ear Wax Removal?
We visit care homes across the nation to provide this service, if you’d like more information, fill in the form below.
Ear microsuction is the removal of ear wax by an audiologist using a high-powered microscope and a small, very thin sterile probe attached to a suction pipe.
How is it performed?
The first step is an examination of the ear using a binaural microscope, whether in the form of magnifying glasses or a fixed microscope.
After a clear view of the ear canal has been obtained, the wax can precisely and carefully be removed using the low suction probe.
From start to finish the whole process takes between 15 and 30 minutes to perform. Most patients report no discomfort during microsuction ear wax removal.
Microsuction is the most common way to remove ear wax build-up due to its effectiveness, painlessness, and safety.
Why choose microsction?
- Precise - Removal under a microscope
- Not always the need for ear drops beforehand

- Can be performed in people who have perforated eardrum or grommet, mastoid cavity and cleft palate
